Even een kort reisverslag!
We vertrokken dus op de 26e naar London. Op het vliegveld kwam Jens, een breaker uit Denemarken om de groep compleet te maken. We moesten hier 12 uur wachten op de volgende vlucht.....mooi geregeld toch.... maar Niek kende een breaker daar genaamd Abdul en hij kwam ons ophalen om te chillen in een huis van zijn tante die nog onbewoond was. 13 man met koffers en al door de ghetto van london naar een of ander crackpand...
Geen bedden, geen bank, niets....... Maar wel lachen natuurlijk. De volgende ochtend weer met zijn allen terug, door dezelfde wijk, met de bus naar het vliegveld naar Miami.
In Miami echt een dope hotel, mooie kamers, groot en netjes. Zijn meteen de dag erna naar Orlando gegaan. Omdat niemand een beslissing kon maken is er uiteindelijk net op tijd een taxi geregeld voor 1000 dollar!!! Wij met 13 man in de taxi naar orlando...5 uur rijden. Toen we aankwamen viel het event wel mee, was klein en slecht georganiseerd.
Terug in Miami hebben de boys niet veel meer gedaan dan geshopped en op het strand gelegen. Deze boys houden van schoenen!!! We zijn ook naar een wedstrijd van de Miami Heat tegen de Boston Celtics geweest. Ik denk dat er in totaal wel 40 paar schoenen gekocht zijn als het er niet meer zijn. Paar keer wezen stappen maar de meeste kwamen nergens binnen omdat ze te jong zijn.
Daarna naar Atlanta en jezus wat is het hier koud!!! Is een echt grauwe stad waar niet veel te beleven valt. We zitten in een hotel ver buiten de stad met bboys van over heel de wereld. Overdag weer shoppen..... weer schoenen kopen en eind van de middag naar het event. Dit is wat groter en beter georganiseerd. Morgen staan ze in de finale waar ze 25.000 dollar kunnen winnen. Ze horen bij de 8 die reeds geplaatst zijn, en vandaag kwalificeren zich er nog 8 om morgen met in totaal 16 de finale te draaien.
De trip is echt een ervaring, de boys zijn relaxed, het eten is hier goed, kleren zijn cheap en de mensen zijn allemaal vriendelijk. Ik kan alleen niet wachten om terug te gaan naar Miami waar we straks nog een dag in de hitte kunnen chillen op het strand.
Daarna weer terug naar Amsterdam via London en weer aan het werk bij Dynamo.....
