Wie in de jaren 80 zich rekende tot de new wave scene (of bij vele de bekende vleermuizenscene) weet dat Anne Clark de onbetwiste dansvloer koningin was. Anne Clark combineerde haar stadsgedichten met Electronics, elecktro-wave, electro-pop, EBM, Dark Dance, Goth en avant-garde Noise. Kortom, je kon in de alternatieve clubs en jongerencentra's niet om Anne heen.

Anne bracht in 1982 de plaat "The Sitting Room" uit, met daarop leden van This Mortal Coil. De plaat vond zijn weg richting het Synth/wave publiek, en zo kon Anne Clark een aantal shows doen als support van Depeche Mode. In 1983 bracht ze de plaat "Changing Places"uit met daar de megahit "Sleeper in Metropolis". Misschien is Sleeper DE alternatieve jaren 80tig dancevloer hit, die zeker de eerste invloeden liet horen van punk maar ook zeker de opkomende EBM en Elecktro/New Romance scene.

Terwijl de top 40 vol stond met Duran Duran, The Cure en Depeche Mode ontstond er in de Engelse Underground een stroming die zich meer en meer liet beïnvloeden door technische foefjes, bands als Nitzer Ebb, Sisters Of Mercy en Gary Numan beklommen de podia in heel europa, en ook Anne stond wereld wijd op vele podia, getuige haar live plaat opgenomen in Utrecht. Na nog een knoepert van een hit "Oud Darkness" en een reeks goed ontvangen platen, werden de grenzen wat meer verlegd en vond de band in de jaren 90tig hun inspiratie in de meer akoestische live muziek met traditionele instrumenten. "Psychometry" is live opgenomen in de Passionskirche te Berlijn. Na een aantal jaren van betrekkelijk constante platen en hier en daar een live tour kwam er in 1997 de Remix plaat "Wordprocessing" uit wat weer een terug keer betekende richting de meer synthy geluid van de jaren 80.

Live staat Anne nog steeds voor voorgedragen teksten of sferische muziek, soms dromerig maar ook vaak met een hele dikke beat erin, erin mee gesleurd worden is dan ook het enige wat je kunt doen. Anne zal zeker nummer van haar laatste plaat "The Smallest Acts of Kindness"uit 2008 spelen, maar een show zonder klassiekers als Our Darkness, Wallies, Sleeper In Metropolis en Echoes Remain Forever is geen Anne Clark Show.
Dynamo en Darkness In Lightcity is superblij dat we Anne exclusief deze zomer op het Dynamo-podium mogen neer zetten. Dat het legendarische gaat worden staat nu al vast, zorg dat je er bij bent!

Er zal geen support zijn voor deze show, wel een aantal geweldige dj's die zal zorgen dat je na binnenkomst je 30 jaar terug te tijd in wordt geslingerd, en dat je na de show weer heel rustig met je voetjes in 2010 beland.
